Mac and Cheese is worthy of serving as a meal in its own right, served with just a fresh green salad or simple vegetable side. Add shredded chicken, sautéed onion and bell peppers/capsicum, bacon, hot sauce (for heat!), dried herbs of choice. Thaw then on the day of, bake per Note 5 in the recipe.Īdd ins? This recipe is great as it is, but there’s tons of add-in options. Most Mac and Cheese will not keep well because there’s not enough sauce so it gets absorbed by the pasta and you’re left with dry, sauceless pasta.įreezing? Yes! Assemble, cool, do not bake, just freeze it. How long can Mac and Cheese stay in the fridge? Unlike most, this Macaroni Cheese recipe is good for 3 to 5 days in the fridge. Cool, refrigerate or freeze then bake on the day of (see recipe Note 5 for baking time). Plenty of sauce – Because I like my Mac and Cheese saucy, not dried up so you can cut it like cake!Ĭan you make Mac and Cheese ahead of time? Most recipes are not suitable for making ahead, but this recipe is! The best way is to cool pasta then toss with sauce and adding breadcrumb topping. If necessary, switch to a whisk to get rid of stubborn little lumps! To avoid lumps in your sauce, stir constantly as you slowly pour the milk in and keep stirring once the milk is all added. This stops the macaroni from absorbing more liquid while baking, resulting in bloated overcooked pasta (hot pasta absorbs liquid faster, butter creates thin film of protection) and less sauce. No bloated overcooked pasta – Cool macaroni slightly and lightly coat in butter. They have anti caking agents that can make the sauce grainy. The simple trick to avoid lumps in the Mac and Cheese Sauce is to pour the milk in slowly while constantly stirring, then just switch to a whisk if needed to remove any stubborn lumps!įreshly grated cheese – don’t use pre shredded. It’s a straightforward recipe, starting with a basic butter-flour roux that is used to thicken milk to make the cheese sauce. For first timers, I think the short video below will help give you the confidence that you’ve got this! Cream makes it so rich you can’t eat more than a few spoonfuls. This sauce is rich enough as it is from the butter and cheese. And mozzarella for stretch – nothing does the cheese pull like a good mozzarella!īut honestly, any cheese that melts well works is excellent with Mac and Cheese, such as cheddar, tasty, Colby, Swiss, Pepper Jack, Emmental. Gruyere for the most superior flavour with the best melting qualities for creamy sauces such as this – there’s no contention in my view. Best cheese for Mac and Cheese?Ī combination of Gruyere and mozzarella cheese. Macaroni, also known as elbow pasta. But really, any short pasta will work just fine – penne, ziti, twirls etc. Pasta. All the essential food groups covered!□ Best pasta for Mac and Cheese? This is a Mac and Cheese recipe that is everything you want in a knock-your-socks off Macaroni Cheese – cheesy and creamy, with perfectly cooked macaroni (no bloated pasta!), plenty of sauce and a crunchy buttery top (essential in my world!) Said Mac and Cheese would be ravaged.Īnd of all the Mac and Cheeses in the world, this is still the best Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had! About this Macaroni and Cheese I don’t want to be morbid, but if I had to choose a Last Meal, this Baked Mac and Cheese may possibly be it. Put me in a room with Macaroni Cheese, and neither of us stand a chance. This is a reader-favourite recipe included by popular demand in my debut cookbook “Dinner”! Baked Mac and Cheese This is THE Macaroni Cheese recipe that’s wildly popular every Thanksgiving and Christmas! Still the best Baked Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had, with a stunning white creamy cheese sauce and a buttery breadcrumb topping.

For now, we see the potential for a shut-in of 3 mb/d of Russian oil supply starting from April, but losses could increase should restrictions or public condemnation escalate. Unprecedented sanctions imposed on Russia to date exclude energy trade for the most part, but major oil companies, trading houses, shipping firms and banks have backed away from doing business with the country. Russia is the world’s largest oil exporter, shipping 8 mb/d of crude and refined oil products to customers across the globe. The implications of a potential loss of Russian oil exports to global markets cannot be understated. While it is still too early to know how events will unfold, the crisis may result in lasting changes to energy markets. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has brought energy security back to the forefront of political agendas as commodity prices surge to new heights. Prices have eased again on economic concerns, surging Covid cases in China and traders reducing positions due to extreme volatility.įaced with what could turn into the biggest supply crisis in decades, global energy markets are at a crossroads. Prices jumped from $90/bbl in early February following the invasion of Ukraine and as supply concerns mounted. As this Report went to print, ICE Brent oil futures slid to around $100/bbl after touching an intraday high of nearly $140/bbl on 8 March.Preliminary data for the US, Europe and Japan indicate that industry stocks decreased by a further 29.8 mb in February. Industry stocks covered 57.2 days of forward demand, down by 13.6 days from a year earlier. At 2 621 mb, inventories were 335.6 mb below the 2017-2021 average and at their lowest level since April 2014.

Regarding the field of psychology, scientists believe that emotions are the prevailing driver of most substantial decisions in life (e.g Lazarus, 1991 Loewenstein et al., 2001).Īlthough numerous publications on emotional impact on decision-making have been published to date, the majority is concerned with the comparison of solely two (negative) emotions on a specific situational context such as risk-taking. By now, the involved scientific disciplines reach from philosophy, through psychology, to (affective) neuroscience (Bechara, Damasio, & Damasio, 2000 Solomon, 2010). In recent years, scholarly publications on emotions and decision-making doubled from 2004 to 2007 and again from 2007 to 2011 and have thus reached approximately 430 annual publications in 2013 (Lerner et al., 2015). Regarding this as a starting point, decision research has begun to give attention to emotional influence in decisions and with the upcoming field of behavioral economics in the 1980s, the topic ultimately gained its relevance in research (Rick & Loewenstein, 2010). However, this approach failed to integrate the role of emotions in its explanation to understand human rationality. The discussion of cognitive and situational constraints on models of rational choice has its origin in 1967, when Herbert Simon introduced the theory of bounded rationality (Simon, 1967). Key wordsĮmotion decision-making judgment affect cognition choice risk fear anger sadness disgust Introduction The review of outcome effects has indicated that, in many cases, emotions of the same valence but with different appraisals can exert opposing effects on the decision outcome. Negative emotions turned out to constitute major influence on judgment, choice and decision-making. For this purpose it brings together traditional and contemporary theories from the field of emotion and decision-making and, building on this, reviews highly recognized and accepted research works that have concentrated on outcome effects. This paper presents a selective, qualitative review of the influence of the negative emotions fear, anger, sadness and disgust on the domains of judgment, choice and decision-making. Over the last four decades the topic of emotions and decision-making has gained relevance among psychologists. How might specific negative emotions influence judgment, choice and decision-making? The Cat D5 Dozer Delivers Power, Mobility and Improved Emissions This change includes replacing the legendary Cat D6N dozer with the more powerful, productive and cost-effective Cat D5 track-type tractor. The latest model dozers use the same primary platform as previous models, and the equipment you are already familiar with now has a corresponding replacement. While making it easier to find the machine you need, Caterpillar also designed these dozers with upgrades and improvements to help you get more done. The Cat small dozers are now labeled D1 to D3, the medium dozers take up D4 through D8 and the largest dozers finish the list from D9 to D11. Shifting from the previous naming scheme, the new Cat® dozers now have model numbers ranging from D1 through D11. Savign the world from a grim, digitized fate.Ĭheck out the rest of our Mighty Max reviews. Mighty Max has to battle the Cybersurfer in Virtual Reality and destroy the brain-source. But while Mighty Max is playing the game, it tries to digitize the entire city. Megacorp designed a game called Cybersurfer. So, this is basically the ‘Video Game’ themed set for the toy line. To me, it screams telemarketer, butīy pulling the jaw forward, we can unclasp and open this set up. Cyberskull is an awesome looking set, but I can’t think of anybody that looks good with a headset. And I guess the ear piece flips down like a headset. The eyepiece can be lifted out of the way, revealing a crumbling eye socket beneath. The Virtual Vehicle forms a headset on the outside of the set but transforms into a tank for Mighty Max to ride.Īnother cool feature, unusual for a Doom Zone, are the play features on the outside. The playset comes complete with your Mighty max figure, the Central Brain, your Cyber Surfer and the Virtual Vehicle. Cyberskull himself (who the outside of the playset is based off), managed to stick around long enough for a follow up TV episode (and Battle Warrior Playset, Mighty Max Shuts down Cybot). Mighty Max Bytes Cyber Skull / Bytes Cyro Skull - Doom Zones - Bluebird Toys 1994 100 complete with the correct accessories. Especially the colour scheme and the cyborg look. I’m a massive fan of the look of this playset. The Playset is based off an arcade board for a computer game where Max has to journey inside the computer itself to fight the bad guy the Cyber Surfer. Mighty Max Bytes Cyber Skull - Doom Zone - COMPLETE - Bluebird Toys RARE. We also get the return of the Skull Master figure from the Double-Demon figure set - he can wield his menacing staff when it isn’t being fired from his big blue howitzer.Mighty Max Bytes Cyberskull came out in the last wave of Doom Zones for the franchise and they were really pulling out all the stops. Mighty Max Doom Zones Escapes From Skull Dungeon Vtg BlueBird Playset Only 1992. It sports a lot of silly, cartoonish decals - one more sign of Bluebird’s growing disinterest in the toy line - but there’s tons of great stuff to make up for it. Many a kid probably enjoyed busting this evil bastard’s face open. This set’s connection to the cartoon is obvious from the get-go: it’s made in the striking image of Max’s nemesis, the titular Skull Master. That has finally been remedied, so the collector in me can finally sleep well at night. I have no idea what the deal is with Series 3’s wishy-washy US distribution, but it’s a shame it kept me from getting the entire playset collection for twenty years. Some states didn’t get anything from Series 3 apparently. The Beetlebrow and Freako horror heads, like the Geela Guts doom zone of Series 3, were readily available all over the UK, but only select areas in the US for whatever reason. It’s also the only doom zone with a black Mighty Max logo, instead of the usual red. I only got it because, at the time, I was a completist. Where the designs are cool, the substance is…lacking.ĬYBERSKULL is too abstract for my tastes: it plunges Max into the belly of his own computer (just like the elusive Geela Guts doom zone, which plunges him into the belly of his pet iguana), so the interior is an amalgamation of computer parts and electronic miscellany. There are a few golden moments here, but despite the unchained creativity in the playset compositions, it was at this point I realized Max wouldn’t see a fourth adventure. On the plus side, the designers went all-out with the playset layouts: almost every one of them is a complex puzzle box of moving parts and odd configurations, from the vertically splitting Nautilus to the bagel-shaped Geela Guts. Here the bulk of Max’s adventures draws to a close as we finally round out the Doom Zone collection. Lastly, I debated about giving OUABC 4 stars or 5 for shipping because the issues with shipping are. That being said, I have sometimes felt let down by the paper items and opening them is less thrilling than the other types of gifts. 2019 YA box books and gifts opened (these boxes are no longer available in the shop, so no spoilers!), so you can see the kind of things you might expect: usable items like umbrellas, wearable items like scarves and necklaces, craft-y items like the pastels, and paper items like the flyer that enhance the story by bringing an item from the text directly into your hands as if by magic. The jewelry-type items don't come in every box and so far no items have been similar (repeated). I've seen other subscribers take issue with the costume jewelry, but I personal have loved them every time so far. All of the gifts that you open once you reach a certain point in the story are thoughtful and well-curated. I was an avid reader before, but this book club has enhanced reading for me to a new level. I usually get the YA box, but have since purchased 1 adult box used (from another subscriber) and 2 other adult boxes new (directly from OUABC) because I saw them on FB after the fact and really wanted to get in on it. I've been an international subscriber since November 2019. after getting dialed in with org-mode and beorg, I returned to Things 3 because in reality, my task management needs aren't all that complex. The space between thought and expression (almost) dissolves when in state of relaxed concentration.Īll that said. Can't say it was super easy in the beginning but once I memorized maybe a couple dozen vim shortcuts and experienced modal editing to outline, draft, and rewrite large blocks of screenplay and prose text, there truly was no going back. The turning point for me came with doom emacs. Will post them in a new discussion for y'all to try out once I have something useful. I'm asking around and collect starter packs and resources to make pressing keys in Emacs less asinine. If you rely on some shortcuts shared by all applications on your system, Emacs is doubly confusing because not even cut/copy/paste will behave as expected. If you do everything with the mouse, Emacs is difficult. Automate this for every 5min and you have a very basic open-loop-collector in your said:Ī friend asked me for help trying out Emacs the other day. Surround the Ids from filenames with ] and you have links to go to the task. Write the result to a todo.txt and you've got a basic task overview. I'm not sure if down the road the approach to leave tasks in your notes will do more harm than good - but if you pick up the convention to leave comments with the TODO keyword around, there's plenty of tools that can show you tasks. I bet there's some solution to scan "in the background" and cache the result, because scanning all files from disk every time you want to look at the agenda will probably take forever. I’m using a workaround with Drafts 5 at the moment – but there’s definitely room for Hmm in theory, yes! You'd have to set the variable org-agenda-files so that the Agenda scans all files in building the agenda. I would say about TaskPaper exactly what you said above about The Archive – the only problem I have with it is the missing iOS client (Taskmator doesn’t work for me, partly because it doesn’t support the same Saved Searches). I’ve tried to get going with it a few times, but always given up after about 1-2h of trying to understand how it all works and returned to TaskPaper because it seemed far more intuitive and less cluttered. The simplicity, power, and functionality of The Archive is such a refreshing contrast. It seems like SO many other apps are over-designed while also being unintuitive, clunky and limiting. Doing so has made me realise just how much I like the design of The Archive. I've spent an ironic amount of time over the last day looking at different organisation/to-do apps. I am looking in to supporting Chromebooks and the Amazon app store as well.Looks like I may have to dive in and try figure out Org mode. You can get LucidPad on the Google Play store now.
The structure of HC-SRO4 is shown below: Ultrasonic sensor Timing Diagram We need to calculate the time (in Microseconds). The distance sensor reports the time it takes between the sending and receiving of the samples.Īn object is 40cm away from the Ultrasonic sensor. When samples strike the object, it bounces back from the object. The maximum range the sensor may detect is 4.5m. The medium ranges of the sensor are 10cm to 3m. The Ultrasonic sensors work best for medium ranges. We can connect the ECHO and TRIG terminal to any of the digital I/O pin on the specific Arduino board. The four terminals of HC-SRO4 are VCC, TRIG, ECHO, and GND. The rays bounce back from the object and reach back to the module. The frequency travels through the air and strikes the object on its path. It emits the Ultrasound at a frequency of 40KHZ or 40000 Hz. The Ultrasonic sensor or HC-SRO4 is used to measure the distance of the object using SONAR. Int echoPin = 7 //declare pin for echo pin of UltraSonic sensor įloat speed = 0.Next → ← prev Arduino Ultrasonic distance sensor Int trigPin = 8 //declare pin for trigger pin of UltraSonic sensor Measure distance using HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor with Arduino The other 2 pins, Trig and Echo of the sensor are connected to digital pins 8 and 7 of Arduino, respectively. Now Connect all the above given required components shown in the below circuit diagram to build an Arduino Distance meter.Īs you can see from the above circuit diagram, HC-SR04 ultrasonic distance sensor power pins, Vcc and GND are connected to Arduino’s 5V and GND pins. Here are the required components along with Amazon buying links at best prices. LCD 16X2 module with or without I2C adapter Minimum waiting time between measurements: 20ms (recommended 50ms).įor more details refer the HC-SR04 datasheet: here Interfacing HC-SR04 with Arduino and LCD Display.Minimum TRIG trigger pulse duration: 10 μS.By multiplying speed with time we can calculate the distance.ĭistance = /2Īs the ECHO signal time is the time taken by the sound wave to travel from the sensor to the object and the object to the sensor, we need to divide it by 2 to get the distance between the sensor and the object. ⇒ Distance(s)= Velocity(v) X time(t).Īs we know the speed of the sound in air is 343 meters per second(1234.8kmph) at 20☌, and we can measure the time between the emitter and receiver. By measuring the time taken for the wave from emission till it gets back we can know the distance. The sensor sends an ultrasonic sound wave through the trigger or trigger, bounces off the object and the receiver or echo detects the wave. In Simple terms: The operation is very simple. Thus, the distance can be calculated to the object. The microcontroller measures the time of the ECHO pulse. The ECHO pin stays on High (5 Volts) from the time when the sound wave is emitted to the time the bounced-back sound wave is detected. The emitted sound waves travel in the air and bounce back when they hit an object, and the receiver detects the bounced-back sound waves. To start measuring, the emitter emits 8 ultrasound pulses (40KHz) after receiving the HIGH command on the TRIG pin. This sensor has 2 transducers: one is an emitter, and the other one is a receiver which are Piezoelectric. Interesting Article: DIY Measuring Wheel using Arduino and Rotary Encoder Principle and Working: 2 pins, Vcc and Gnd, are for powering up the sensor and the other 2 pins, Trig and Echo, are to send and receive the ultrasonic pulses and measure the time taken to reach and get back to the sensor to calculate the distance of an object which we discuss below. As you can see from the above image, the sensor has 4 pins. |
